We started Alva 13 years ago. Initially our goal was to produce the very best optically sound LED wall sconces.
However, we quickly realized there was an apparent void in the lighting industry. Very few were making high quality large scale architectural sconces for outdoor use. Hence the architectural world was forced to either settle for what was out there or consider custom. Custom is expensive and with outdoor you really want to specify a proven sound product.
Enter TEX
Tex is a large-scale modern sconce, designed to add an architectural element to a building. Called Tex as it highlights the texture of the building’s surface. We built features into Tex which we have carried out through our entire product offering:
Thick marine grade aluminum. We have numerous customers in coastal locations. None want to see rust in a year or two. We saw competitors using steel and having issues.
Flawless optics. When we design a fixture, we design optics to accompany it. Most just purchase a strip of LEDs. The sides of Tex illuminate perfectly, grazing the building surface to highlight the texture. Architects put great effort into selecting the correct material for the façade. It needs to be well illuminated.
Premium paint. All want the paint to hold up and look the same in 10 years as it does after installation. This is why we use the absolute best paint available.
Premium drivers. The driver is consistently the weak link with any LED fixture. By using a premium driver, we ensure no failures.
IP66 rated. This is the highest level of waterproof protection. Thus, the fixture can be power washed with no damage to the LEDs.
Large scale. Initially 60”, currently available up to 90”.
Rugged construction. We extended our warranty to 10 years on every fixture. Why? We’ve been at this for over a decade and a return is quite rare for Alva.
