Alva started out 10+ years ago as a manufacturer of Modernist wall sconces for both interior and exterior applications. Since then, we’ve developed a following of architects and designers that love our clean aesthetic.

Over the past decade we’ve realized that Modernist fixtures do not work in every interior space. There remains a strong demand for traditional candelabra style sconces.

We continue to see candelabra style sconces in: Hotel corridors, Senior living, Healthcare, Lobbies & Restaurants

We’ve also realized that many parts of North America are partial to traditional.  We understand. We realized there are numerous flaws with today’s candelabra style sconces:

• The shades break and/or fall off.  They look great when installed but get damaged within the first 6 months after installation.

• Most use LED lightbulbs (lamps).  Utilizing a LED light engine creates an even pool of light and eliminates the issues related to LED light bulbs.

• They project too far from the wall.  Most are not ADA compliant. 

• Most are poor quality and will last a couple of years at best.

• Most are not clean, lacking attention to detail.

Along comes Helen, a candelabra style sconce which overcomes these flaws.

1. The shade is made of a durable resin, almost impossible to break.

2. The shade is permanently attached to the sconce, no chance of it getting knocked off.

3. We cut the shade in half, mount it flush to the wall.  Result is a clean, close to the wall aesthetic.

4. Product looks fantastic from the side.

5. LED light engine permanently attached provides an even pool of light surrounding the sconce.

6. Exceptional quality, durability.  With a 10-year warranty.

7. Extreme attention to detail.  No visible mounting hardware, lens to hide the LED assemble from below.
